Hello, I’m artist Kim Jungyong, and I express the definition and direction of life through the use of ballpoint pen.

Deer often appear in my work — they represent a fusion of two symbolic elements.
The antlers embody the will to live, while the body of the deer reflects the fragile weakness and sense of deficiency inherent in all of us.

A single deer, formed by the combination of these two aspects, symbolizes a being born weak and imperfect, yet possessing a strong determination to live — a metaphor for our own existence.

Through the form of the deer, I seek to convey my reflections on the meaning and direction of life.
