Nam ji hyung
Under the overarching theme of “Symbiosis,” my work envisions a world where humans, animals, and nature transcend boundaries to coexist like one family.
The animals in my paintings are not mere subjects; they are “another face of ourselves,” a mirror of humanity. Tigers, polar bears, rabbits, penguins, and many others appear dressed like humans, interacting with everyday objects and landscapes, embracing one another. These scenes symbolize equality without discrimination and the warmth of mutual comfort.
Through vivid and hyperrealistic depictions—sometimes whimsical and fairy-tale-like, at other times surreal—I invite viewers to imagine “a joyful world where you and I are not divided.”
