SHIN EUNG
The artist’s work is both a letter to herself and a voice extended to those who live in the same era. The figure of the horse symbolizes modern individuals, moving through time and encountering the inevitable experiences shaped by that passage. The artist accepts each of these moments as part of life, seeking strength and direction within them to continue forward.
Rather than delivering answers or moral lessons, the work conveys emotions allegorically — the endless extension of time, the internal battles between choice and hesitation, and the crossroads of dreams and reality. We fight silent wars every day, and like a Möbius strip, they repeat and transform, cycling endlessly between conflict, compromise, and introspection.
This circular structure reflects the moments of reflection that emerge between tension and acceptance.
The intention of this work is not to speak louder, but to speak more honestly — through images rather than definition. It embraces the belief that failure is not an ending, but a space where the courage to rise again is born.
Calm yet resilient, the piece offers comfort and resonance to its viewers. The artist hopes that in the traces scattered across the canvas, each person will discover a fragment of their own story — and remember that we can be each other’s voice, each other’s strength. This work stands as a visual declaration of that belief.
