My works explore aesthetic perception of the visible and the invisible.
In most abstract art, the “invisible” refers to meaning; however, in my work, what is unseen is space itself. The act of opening and closing a zipper — the main material in my pieces — reveals and conceals the space behind it, a phenomenon naturally perceived by viewers.
As a medium with such visual and perceptual qualities, the zipper invites the audience to imagine the hidden space beyond the canvas when they approach the work closely.
