KELLEY KIM
Kelley Kim presents meditation and healing through painterly storytelling, unfolding the variations of emotions and experiences inspired by time, seasons, and diverse phenomena encountered across places around the world.
Drawing on the inherent materiality of knit structures, the artist embraces perspectives that move between figuration and abstraction, enriching her work with a sketch-like sensibility. Through sacred yet familiar weaves and patterns that feel both comforting and newly reverent, she fluidly translates aesthetic compositions and painterly structures using knitted textiles. Her work explores the meaning and possibilities of textile sculptural art, expanding its boundaries through her own distinctive techniques and the singular sensibility unique to knit materials.
As the founder and fashion designer of the knitwear brand CROCHE, and an adjunct professor in fashion design, Kelley Kim focuses on her personal attitude and values, expressing them through the lyrical aesthetics intrinsic to knit and textile materials. Through this approach, she continues to expand her artistic practice flexibly across diverse creative fields.
