Korean painter Do Min explores fundamental questions of human existence through a single recurring motif — the dice. In his paintings, the dice are no longer simple game objects. Instead, they expand into a symbolic universe that holds our choices, possibilities, and quiet desires. The cube, with its fixed structure yet infinite combinations, becomes a perfect tool for the artist to reflect on the tension between fate and free will.

Through this small form, Do Min communicates a range of human emotions: the longing for success, the hesitation at crossroads, and the persistent will to move forward even when outcomes are uncertain. Each painting becomes a reminder that life is shaped by chance, but also by intention.

His work invites viewers to look inward — to think about their own decisions, regrets, dreams, and the directions they continue to walk. In the world of Do Min, one small dice can hold an entire human life.
