Sijin Lee
I work primarily with oil painting, alongside drawing-based practices.
My practice is grounded in sustained observation of nature and lived environments.
Through exhibitions and various artistic activities, I approach painting as a process of attentiveness and reflection.
I am interested in perceptual phenomena found in nature, particularly moments when vision becomes uncertain.
From my perspective, nature contains multiple layers of reality that quietly coexist.
My paintings seek to give form to these layers, revealing another order of experience within the familiar.
Themes of observation, coexistence, and the relationship between perception and reality shape my work.
I consider painting a space where seeing slows down and thought begins.
Through my work, I hope viewers may encounter the world again, not as something fixed, but as something continuously unfolding through perception.
